When we walked in the city, we noticed a lot of stones building which were old. We think that they are not renovated which cause a loss of energy. They seem good for the hungarian summer because stones keep the cold air in the houses, but perhaps it is not enough because we could still see many air-conditioning machines.
What we could think of when it comes to more ecological solutions that would fit this region is more solar cells, because of the climate here. But it is not an easy goal to achieve since it it expensive, but it would decrease the energy use.
Two young women who were at a supermarket told us about the culture of conscious energy use and the ecological solutions in buildings of Székesfehérvár. They said that people in the city don’t care about these topics. ’As you could see in the city, the workers are always drunk and they don’t care about what is destroyed.’ – said one of them. They didn’t hear anything being done about the isolation of the buildings which in turn affects the temperature and makes it more energy consuming. There are some houses which have solar cells on the roof but only some of the richest houses can afford it.
There are many opportunities for change to renewable energy resources (for example geothermal heating) and more environmental friendly solutions in the country, but they are not well supported and many people do not find it as important to care about these problems, compaired to their own problems.
